Ukrainians and Russians are negotiating in Kiev, the Donetsk region, and the city of Kyiv, Ukraine, according to local officials
One person was killed and four wounded in shelling overnight in the Sumy region, local officials said, while Kharkiv Gov. Oleh Syniehubov said five people were wounded in his region. On Sunday, 28 more were wounded when Russia shelled the regional capital, also called Kharkiv, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
The largest incursion on Russian soil since the Second World War occurred in the Kurdish region, where 46 of the drones were over. The Belgorod region, where the Ukrainian border is, and the Bryansk region, where the Ukrainian border is, have had a number of shots fired at them.
Ukrainian drone strikes have brought the fight far from the front line into the heart of Russia. In the first half of the year, the Ukrainian army has launched a series of aerial assaults on Russian soil to stop the Kremlin’s assault.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry said Sunday it had taken control of the towns of Pivnichne and Vyimka, in Ukraine’s Donetsk region. The Associated Press could not independently verify the claim.
After more than 900 days of war, the two sides show no sign of letting up in the fight or moving closer to the negotiating table. The Ukrainians and Russians are going after each other on a large scale, with the Ukrainians going into Russia and the Russian army pushing into eastern Ukraine.
There were a lot of explosions in the early hours. Debris from intercepted missiles and drones fell in every district of Kyiv, injuring three people and damaging two kindergartens, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said. Multiple fires were reported by city authorities.

“There will be an answer for everything. The enemy will feel it,” the head of the presidential office, Andrii Yermak, posted on his Telegram page following the attack.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said emergency services were called to the Holosiivskyi and Solomianskyi districts. One person was injured by falling debris in Shevchenkivskyi district.
Both sides are battering each other with regular long-range drone and missile strikes, sometimes launching more than 100 weapons in aerial attacks that suggest they are still pouring resources into weapon production.
