The Megyn Kelly Show Against Democratic Candidate Candidates in the Early Preliminary Elections – Report on the Debate
They had to have at least 80,000 unique donors, up from 70, and a 6 percent support rate in two national polls or polls of two states with early primaries.
He did the first three debates and will skip the fourth. (Though he easily meets the polling and donor criteria, he technically hasn’t qualified because he has refused to sign a pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee.)
The debate will be hosted by NewsNation, The Washington Free Beacon and the Megyn Kelly Show and are all conservative organizations.
The debate will be broadcast or streamed on all NewsNation platforms, including its TV channel, its app and its website. NewsNation will show the debate from midnight to 2 a.m. Eastern, with host Chris Cuomo, and will also have analytical coverage anchored by the former CNN host.
It will be broadcast on the CW in a spot usually used by magic shows and “Whose Line Is it Anyway?” The show will be aired on local CW affiliates in the Mountain and Pacific time zones.
The 2016 Florida Primary is Kicked by a Shakeup at a Pro-DeSantis Super PAC, and it’s Not for the Pedestrians
For the three previous debates, Trump has held some kind of counterprogramming event, such as a rally or major interview. In what looks to be a sign of how confident he is in the primary, Trump is heading to a private event in Florida while Ron DeSantis debates his challengers in Alabama.
It’s a crucial moment for both the Republicans and the Democrats, particularly the one who had been seen as the most likely to take on Trump. But McHenry points to a recent shakeup at a pro-DeSantis super PAC, and the fact that Haley seems to have stepped into that role based on polling and support from donors like the Koch network.
“As much as Donald Trump is trying to force it closed and lock it, there is still a very narrow opening for an alternative,” said Jon McHenry, a Republican.
The remaining candidates will be given more time to distinguish themselves and demonstrate they have a path to the nomination, despite Trump’s dominating the field.
Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy are participating in the event. It will be former President Donald Trump who won’t be there.
Doug Burgum was the only one that failed to qualify for the debate and he dropped out this week. South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, who was in the debate last month, also recently dropped out.
