The Blue Wall: a phone call to Biden to come out and tell the Lord how to survive in the Battle of the Midwestern Wall
On Friday, Biden heads to Michigan to campaign, hitting the third “Blue Wall” state in a week, after Pennsylvania on Sunday and Wisconsin on Friday. The states are important to a victory in November for the Democrats.
Democrats will be having a tough family discussion when Congress returns from recess today. The four senior House Democrats talked on a private call and they believe that President Biden should step down from the race. Some have criticized the people who called for Biden to step aside. Meanwhile, Biden campaigned in Pennsylvania yesterday like a man on a mission.
He has been trying to demonstrate that his debate flub was just one bad night and not a sign of something more serious. He attended Sunday services at Mount Airy Church of God in Christ, where a praise band belted out the worship song, “I need you to survive,” and Bishop J. Louis Felton led a call-and-response for Biden, and urged unity.
“Forgive us for allowing the enemy to drive wedges between us,” he prayed. “Because if we ever lock arms and come together, there’s no election that we cannot win.”
Getting More Deals with the Economy: Remarks from the Biden ‘Dark Brandon’s Coming Back’ Campaign at the D0 Field Office
Biden gave some remarks about the economic issues important to voters at a campaign field office later in the day.
Biden said to the group of about 150 volunteers that “Dark Brandon’s coming back“, referencing a meme his campaign uses to mock his opponents. He said they would get a good look at who Trump is in the next 120 or so days.
Biden was flanked by Sen. John Fetterman and Rep. Madeleine Dean. Fetterman said that the only person in the country that has ever kicked Trump’s ass in an election is your president. “He is going to do it twice.”
Democratic leaders in the House were convening a virtual meeting on Sunday with the top Democrats on House committees. Some people appeared on political talk shows on Sunday about whether Biden should stay at the top of the ticket.
“This is about whether he made the right decision to run or to pass the torch, and that’s only part of the equation,” he said. He also said he thinks Vice President Harris could beat Trump if Biden decides to step back.
But Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., said she is heard from voters during the Independence Day break that Biden should stay in. “I had people in parades shout at me, ‘Tell him to stay — we have his back,’” she told CNN’s State of the Union. “I really do think that as much as you’re hearing a lot of different opinions from other people, that’s what’s happening,” she said.
Alex said he talked to Biden on Saturday. The president talks about what he sees in internally polling data, and what he’s planning for the coming days. “He is as pumped and as eager as I’ve seen to make sure he’s taking this campaign seriously,” Padilla told MSNBC.
Biden faces a critical week in Washington, as his party’s lawmakers return to Congress — and world leaders come to the city for a NATO summit, where Biden is set to give a rare solo press conference, where he will be faced with answering more questions about his age and abilities.
In Ann Arbor, Mich., Tom Brush called the current state of the Democratic race “a sad moment,” explaining he doubts whether Biden can make it through the election and had hoped the president would voluntarily step aside for the good of the party — perhaps for Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
“My experience is that people can reach a stage in their life when they’re not is vital as they once were,” said Brush, 90, a long-time Democratic voter, in an interview at his home.
Joe Biden and the Party of the Party: What Have We Learned in the First Three Months? A Comment on the Moments of a Comeback
Biden blamed his poor debate performance on exhaustion, and insisted that medical checkups prior to the debate found “no indication of a serious condition.” Biden told George Stephanopoulos that he was sick prior to the debate.
Representative Jerry Nadler of New York is the top Democrat on the Judiciary committee.
A House Democrat who was granted anonymity to speak candidly about internal party talks said he was worried after reading reports that Biden may not do events past 8 p.m. If Biden ends up leaving, Democrats don’t have a lot of time to do it, according to the member.
Biden sounded frustrated during his conversation on MSNBC. He said that he was getting frustrated by the party elites, so he didn’t care what the big names think.
Indeed, many Democrats are still publicly supporting Biden, even as anxiety grows within their ranks. The issue has caused panic within the party just a month before their convention in Chicago.
He said he does not know if Friday night’s interview with Joe Biden did enough to answer the questions. This week is going to be critical. I think the president needs to do more.”
“Joe Biden is who our country needs, and his presidency has laid a foundation upon which we can continue our pursuit of a more perfect union,” he said in a social media post on Friday. Mr. Clyburn’s endorsement four years ago is often credited with helping Mr. Biden prevail in the South Carolina presidential primary and propelling him to win his first term.
Mr. Clyburn caused some hand-wringing among Democrats last week when he discussed the possibility of a “mini-primary“ to replace Mr. Biden before the Democratic National Convention next month should he withdraw from the race. But he quickly moved to clarify that he considered the idea strictly hypothetical.
It’s similar to how Black Democrats helped propel Mr. Biden to his primary victory. It also shows a larger divide within the party that could be important in determining how the crisis will be solved.
Mr. Jeffries said that Joe Biden had been through trials and difficulties throughout his life. It is a comeback moment right now.
At a time when the Republican Party’s position is dire, the Biden campaign is comforted by the backing of Black Democrats, an influential force on Capitol Hill. Mr. Biden would make his case on Sunday at the Black church in Philadelphia.
Biden told the congregation at Mount Airy Church of God in Christ that if they stick together, he was more optimistic about America’s future.
Representative Waters told audiences at the Essence festival in New Orleans she wasn’t going to be any other Democrats’ candidate. “It’s going to be Biden.”
“The choice for American leadership and our democracy is clear,” Representative Joyce Beatty of Ohio, a former chairwoman of the Black Caucus, said in a social media post late Sunday in which she lauded Mr. Biden’s record as a defender of democracy.

The Justice Department said in a court filing on Sunday that Boeing would plead guilty to a criminal fraud charge stemming from two fatal crashes of the MAX. As part of the plea deal, Boeing will pay a $243.6 million fine, invest upwards of $450 million toward safety and compliance programs, and be on non-recognizability for three years.
The far-right party didn’t get a majority in the country’s snap elections after a historic number of people voted. The country had a large voter turnout.
The National Hurricane Center said in an update this morning that the storm made landfall in Texas as a Category 1 Hurricane. More than 100 counties are under a state disaster declaration, and Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said yesterday more may be added. Thousands of people have been dispatched across the state.

How to Eat Fairly, Pay How You Get There, and How to Make Your Dinner at the Mexican Folklife Festival – Interview with Ubaldonchez Sanchez
Dining out with your friends is fun, but you need to pay for your meal. The splitting of the bill is very artistic. The editor of New York Magazine says there should be more equality in how the check is distributed when the meal is over. She offers advice on how to keep things “fair and square”:
The Folklife Festival featured arts and culture from all over Latin America. From an all- female Bolivian skateboarding crew to artists singing and painting to weaving, people from the LatinAmerican contingent at the festival shared their stories and expertise with excited onlookers. The NPR team met one of the artists named Ubaldonchez. His portrait of former President Obama was selected for his White House collection, and he successfully painted a giant kite by the festival’s closing. 📷 See photos from the festival and read about the special connection Sanchez found with NPR’s Marc Silver.
Earlier in the day, Karl Revisited called for a free thinker to run for the presidency instead of a pundit
Give me a break. Come with me. Go to watch. He said to watch, referencing recent campaign stops. I’m getting frustrated by the elites in the party that know so much more. But if any of these guys don’t think I should run, run against me. Go ahead. Make a statement for president. Challenge me at the convention.
He said Democratic voters had spoken during the primaries — and that it was their decision to make, “not the press, not the pundits, not the big donors.”
This was open to everyone who wanted to run. Only three people chose to challenge me. One got so bad that he left the primary and ran as a freethinker. He said the other attacked him for being too told and that they soundly defeated him.
