Democratic lawmakers, organizers, and potential rivals rallied around Vice President Kamala Harris’s candidacy less than a day after President Biden stepped out of the race and put his support behind her for as the presidential nominee. She appears on a glidepath to the nomination when delegates meet in Chicago next month.

The DNC is going ahead with the plans for a virtual vote in which delegates are expected to name Harris as the new nominee ahead of the convention.

Harris still has to secure the Democratic Party’s nomination, but Republicans are already running their campaign as if she has. Trump’s campaign has dubbed her the “enabler in chief,” tying her to Biden’s biggest woes, including immigration and inflation.

The U.S. politics has been on a roller coaster recently. Keeping up with the news can be very hard, especially with the election just four months away. Even before the attempt on Trumps life and the loss of Biden, psychologists said it was normal for people to feel negative emotions. If you’re feeling intense, long-lasting symptoms of prolonged sadness, worry, hopelessness or physical tension, it could be time for an intervention. According to psychologists, there are some ways to help.

Gov. Beshear told MSNBC Monday that he was supporting her candidacy. He believes that the vice president is a good president because she is smart and strong.

Fellow Democratic Govs. There were reports that the two Pennsylvania men might challenge Harris at the Democratic National Convention, but they did not do so.

While some Democrats are advocating for an “open process” in Chicago, there seems to be little appetite for a contentious battle for the nomination to take on former President Donald Trump, and any potential challenge seemed likely to be nominal.

Many people would love to see a mini-primary. When it comes to the presidential race, Sen. Joe Manchin said the process is to find out if you can get behind a candidate, regardless of who you decide to vote for.

“I mean, [the Democratic Party has] gone to the left. Let’s see if she comes back. You know a person can be in one position and make a change or direction change. I want to see that direction change.

Democratic voters flooded Harris’s nascent campaign with donations, raising $50 million in less than a day, suggesting the money will not be one of her struggles in her campaign against Trump.

These aren’t ordinary times. And this will not be an ordinary election,” Harris wrote in a solicitation text to supporters on Monday asking for $20 donations.

Sean Cooksey, the Trump-appointed chair of the Federal Election Commission, told NPR’s Morning Edition there are legitimate arguments to be made that Harris isn’t entitled to those funds.

The portion of federal campaign finance regulations that Cooksey shared on Sunday stated that if a candidate isn’t a contender in the general election, all contributions made to them should be returned or redesignated.

He may have to look at his interpretation if the Trump team files a complaint with the FEC, or requests an advisory opinion on Biden handing over his campaign money to Harris.

There is an abbreviated time until the election, and Democrats could be challenged in court if they do not change their ways.

Trump has been prepared andKamala Harris will not be able to outrun the Harris-Biden record.

Republicans are already highlighting that Harris is more liberal on immigration and will argue that she covered for Biden’s mental acuity. Chris LaCivit, a senior Trump campaign official said, “You lied about it every day.”

The shakeup of the Democratic party doesn’t seem to have received much response from voters. A recent NPR/PBS News/Marist poll, conducted before Biden withdrew from the race but after his poor debate performance, showed both Biden and Harris in a statistical tie with Trump.

Speculation quickly fell to contenders in must-win swing states such as Shapiro, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, or Gov. Roy Cooper of North Carolina, where Harris has already traveled frequently in this campaign.

Mark Kelly has won two statewide races and is thought to have put back on the map a state that Democrats believe had largely slipped away from Biden by the time he exited the race.

The Democratic Party Virtual Vote for the 2020 State House Majority Causal Electoral Candidate (Rep.) Kamala Harris

With less than four weeks to go before the convention, Democrats will have little time to make a decision on a running mate, while voters won’t have to wait long to find out.

The Democratic Party has rules requiring candidates to fill out paperwork, gather at least 300 signatures and get on the ballot if they so choose. Harris is the only one of the candidates who has gotten the endorsement of more than 300 delegates. Self-help author Marianne Williamson, who ran in primaries earlier this year and in 2020, has indicated she also would like to be a candidate.

The virtual vote plan was being developed by the DNC due to concerns about the nominee missing some deadlines in Ohio and other states if they had to wait for delegates to vote in person at the convention. The convention begins Aug. 19.

The virtual vote ahead of the convention became more important after Biden dropped out of the race this weekend and Republicans threatened legal action, said Minyon Moore, chair of the party’s convention.

On Sunday, hours before Biden announced his decision to drop out of the race, House Speaker Mike Johnson told CNN that Democrats could have a “real problem” if they tried to replace him as the nominee.

“I think they’ve got legal hurdles in some of these states and it will be litigated I would expect on the ground there and they’ll have to sort through that,” Johnson said.

But after Biden’s announcement, Republicans have appeared to back away from that strategy, instead focusing on the idea that Harris may face hurdles in using Biden’s campaign funds.

“There’s not a lot of precedent here, but I think they’ve got a legal problem in having Harris use the Biden committee as her campaign committee,” he said.

I know that the Federal Election Commission is still dealing with issues from the campaign and I don’t think they’ll be able to quickly resolve them before the election.

Nancy Pelosi made the motion to endorse the fellow Californian because of his experience as a prosecutor. Pelosi also spoke to delegates about the importance of California Democrats turning out the vote for her, according to attendees.

“When I announced my campaign for President, I said I intended to go out and earn this nomination,” she said. “I look forward to formally accepting the nomination soon.”

DNC chairman Jaime Harrison says DNC officials will hold an electronic roll call by Aug. 7. According to the Associated Press, Harris has locked up enough delegate commitments to win the nomination.
