Red flag warnings for Los Angeles and Ventura counties through Wednesday through the next few days as a possible response to the Los Angeles-Vancouver wind storm
The red flag warnings will be in effect for portions of Los Angeles and Ventura counties through Wednesday, even if the wind storm isn’t as strong as last week.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said on Monday that the number of evacuated people has dropped to about 92,000. But new evacuation warnings and orders are expected to be issued as high winds return over the next few days.
A red flag warning will be in effect late Monday night through Wednesday morning due to the severe dry conditions and low humidity.
A new fire broke out in Southern California on Monday night, adding to the string of fires there in the past week that has left more than 20 people dead and hundreds of thousands under evacuation orders.
Los Angeles County is about 100 miles west of Ventura County and they’re still trying to control the three major fires.
Late Monday night, the deaths of 21 people had been confirmed: 16 from the Eaton Fire and five from the Palisades Fire, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s office said. As of Sunday evening, the LA County Medical Examiner was investigating 24 deaths.
