The Dual-Stop Switch 2 Spectroscopy at GameStop: Preorders Open April 24th at 11AM ET / 8AM PT
If you just want the standalone console, you’ll be able to preorder the Switch 2 for $449.99 at GameStop when online preorders open today, April 24th, at 11AM ET / 8AM PT. You can place a preorder in-store when your local store opens.
The standalone Switch 2 comes with a pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers, which magnetically attach to the console, and feature a new “C-button” — a shortcut to Nintendo’s new in-game chat feature, GameChat. Inside the box, you’ll also find a redesigned dock, a basic Joy-Con grip, Joy-Con wrist straps, an AC adapter, a USB-C charging capable, and an HDMI cable.
The online listing for theMario Kart World andSwitch 2 bundle has a button that is grayed out, but it is loaded for me. One colleague also got the console-only option listing to load, but with a “not available” button in place of a preorder one.
GameStop’s Cloudflare Issues: On a First Day of Refresh at 11 AM, When I Was Leaving The Verge
Right as the clock rolled over to 11AM, many of us at The Verge experienced issues with the website. At the first moment, the GameStop website showed me a mostly blank page with no text on it. [sic] and a refresh button. Soon after, myself and other Verge staffers often saw Cloudflare notices on GameStop’s website instead, including error notices that said the “web server is down” or that the site is experiencing a “bad gateway.”
