“While we are pleased that Mr. Bauer has been reinstated immediately, we disagree that any discipline should have been imposed,” said the lawyers in a statement. “That said, Mr. Bauer looks forward to his return to the field, where his goal remains to help his team win a World Series.”

The Dodgers said in a statement that they were informed of the ruling on Thursday and would comment as soon as practical.

A woman from Columbus, Ohio, told the Washington Post that Bauer had raped her over the course of a years-long relationship. Their relationship was “casual and wholly consensual,” Bauer said in a statement through his representatives.

Sam Dyson, a free agent pitcher, was given the longest suspension of 15 players who had been disciplined under the policy. None of the players who were disciplined under the policy are thought to have challenged the penalty before an arbiter.

Bauer will have to pay $37,594,233 in three years as a result of his suspension.

The Dodgers’ tax bill will be reduced and they are projected to pay more tax in 2023 as a result of the money not being paid to Bauer.

Bauer won his first Cy Young in 2020 with the Reds and then joined his hometown Dodgers. He didn’t pitch again after June 29 and went on to have an ia record of 8-2 and a 2.59 ERA.
