The new controller from Microsoft is inspired by things like Stadia, Steam and Sony

The Wireless Ultimate: A New Look at the Epomaker TH80 Pro and Implications for Switch, Console, and Windows PCs

The standard model of the EpomakerTH80 Pro keyboard has a 75 percent mechanical keyboard, a volume knob and hot swappable switches, which makes it easy to adjust the keyboard’s look and feel. It also offers the same plastic case and steel switch plate, the same PBT keycaps and per-key RGB lighting, and the same great typing experience. The Pro model, however, comes with a bigger 4,000mAh battery and a few other notable improvements — including the ability to automatically detect whether you’re using a Mac or Windows machine — making it a slight upgrade over the base model.

One of our favorites from Epomaker is its compact model, the TH80 Pro, which comes with a larger battery and a few other improvements.

If there is one thing anyone within the gaming community can agree on, it is that stick drift is a problem for controllers everywhere. The Ulitmate is currently on sale at Amazon in black or white, for about $7 off, when you clip the coupon for 10 percent off. Prime members can also pick up either color for slightly less through a third-party retailer, though, in each case, Amazon still fulfills the order.

The wireless Ultimate is compatible with the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and Windows PCs, unlike some of 8BitDo’s controllers. Magnetic Hall effect sticks aren’t prone to the false inputs you might experience with something like Nintendo’s Joy-Con controllers, which is its biggest draw. They also feature two back paddles and a number of pro-grade software features, including button mapping and custom profiles, both of which you can fine-tune in the companion app. The controller even comes with its own charging dock that you can use to stow the included 2.4GHz dongle when it’s not in use — just another reason it’s one of the best Nintendo Switch controllers available.

The $70 pad could arrive in 2024 chock-full of the best parts of Sony’s DualSense, Valve’s Steam Controller, Google Stadia, and — here’s hoping — 8BitDo.

Here is hoping! It’s the thing I’m most excited about because it seriously does add a new dimension to some of Sony’s games, which just aren’t the same when you take it away.

Even if the controllers feature linear actuator instead of eccentric spinning weights, they still don’t have the impact that you get with old-fashioned spinning weights. The Nintendo Switch didn’t have a really good Haptics, the Steam Controller did.

If Microsoft puts a gyro in this thing, we can have the exact same gyro aiming revolution that I have been experiencing on my Steam Deck and with a Nintendo GameCube game. It is good for aiming bows.

Sebile is such a big deal because of it. Microsoft was internally positioning it as its first “Universal Wireless Controller,” theoretically capable of controlling Xbox across console, mobile, PC, and cloud.

documents show that the controller can do that because it connects directly to the cloud. My phone, PC, and TV are connected to the internet, so I can play a game on my screen whenever I want. Here’s something I wrote in 2019 about Stadia and Destiny 2:

I used the Stadia Controller to play the game on the TV, then switched to a computer with a mouse and keyboard and played it again on my phone before walking down the hall to grab some food.

First, many of 8BitDo’s controllers have a neat sliding switch on the back that lets you swap between four paired devices over Bluetooth — one click to go from Nintendo Switch to iPhone or PC. Sounds like Microsoft might do that with an app, though.

Getting Them Wrong: Microsoft XBOX Leak Gamepad Sebile Steam-Sony For The Xbox One

I credited 8bitDo for making a battery that could fit in the AA pocket, but the aftermarket one is not available for Microsoft’s game. It might be bundled now.

Lift-to-wake presence detection could be a big deal for battery life! Current publisher and former editor-in-chief. Chris Grant tells me that the XBOX One controllers seem to last forever if you have a microsoft kinect set up.

There are several other new controllers being discussed, including a new version dubbed Igraine, a new elite controller called Actium and a new luxury controller called Zarasai.

The last two had yet to achieve internal funding, and Microsoft had warned that the “Sebile full product vision” was not currently approved.

On a Case of a Charged Superconductor Obtained by Sebile and Igraine, Part I: An Almost-Isolated Battery

By the way, Sebile and Igraine would supposedly ship with a pack-in accessory of some sort called “Bonnie” or “Bonnie Pro.” The name of the battery is up in the air. A carrying case? Is it an interchangeable stick or stick top? Our guess is as good as yours.
