You think that Netanyahu would run for president because he needs to save his own political skin – so he would guarantee Israel wouldn’t have American, Palestinian or European partners to help in Gaza or get its hostages back?

The last time the two leaders talked was in December, and it was described as tense. The latest call came a day after Mr. Netanyahu told reporters in Israel that he had rebuffed Mr. Biden’s efforts to pressure him into a two-state solution. Despite American views, Mr. Netanyahu said that Israel must maintain security control over all the territory west of the Jordan. Mr. Netanyahu told reporters that the prime minister has to be able to reject requests.
The president spoke to reporters at the White House after the call and said there were a number of types of two-state solutions. There are a number of countries that don’t have their own military. Some of the states have limitations. He said he thought there could be ways in which this could work.
