The Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Kansas City Chiefs: What’s happening in the last four seasons of the Colts-Dense-Oscillators Super Bowl?

Doug Williams became the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl in 1988, and Russell Wilson became the second black quarterback to win the big game in a row, as both led their teams to victories.

The Eagles’ quarterback passed the San Francisco 49er’s starter for the most rushing touchdown in a single season by a quarterback as he guided his team past the 49ers.

“You work really hard to put yourself in this position and I’m forever grateful. Only God can help us overcome the things that each person on our team has overcome to come together as a group.

That is what’s most important. I always want to do my best regardless of the situation, because I don’t want to let down the guy next to me.

The Philadelphia Eagles will play the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday. The Eagles are favored by just 1.5 points, which is pretty close to a tossup.

This year’s matchup is a battle of heavyweights. Both teams finished with 14 wins. The conference had the #1 seed. Both have won playoff games to make it to the Super Bowl.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense is the best in the league, and they have a presumptive Most Valuable Player in quarterback Patrick Mahomes. But the Eagles are the most complete team in football, and overcoming their league-leading defense will be a tall task.

The Philadelphia Eagles were the class of the NFL all season. They only lost one game in which the starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts, played, and that game was an odd duck with six turnovers.

Their defense is formidable: Their pass rush is second to none, and overall, they allowed the second fewest yards of any team this year. On offense, they’re much improved from last season. Hurts was already a running threat and has now made big strides in his passing game, and the addition of star receiver A.J. Brown has transformed their ability for explosive plays.

Kansas City had the best offense in the league. This is true even when you only count the simple measures of points scored and yards gained, or only when you account for the statistics cited by the nerds.

Their defense has perked up in the last couple of years, thanks to the All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones who, as much as it is possible for him to do so in a football game, singlehandedly dominated theChiefs’ previous matchup against the Cincinnati.

The Eagles have an imposing pass rush. The best pass rushing team in the league is led by Reddick, a dark horse in the Super Bowl. The percentage of plays in which they sacked the quarterback is the highest in decades. The play that resulted in the Eagles recovering a fumbled ball and San Francisco’s Brock Purdy having to leave the game was the one Reddick easily shed his blocker to reach.

This is a problem for the Chiefs — specifically their tackles, Orlando Brown and Andrew Wylie, the outermost of the five linemen, who have struggled at times this year. If the Eagles can get by them to get regular pressure on Mahomes, the Chiefs’ offense could struggle to find a rhythm and move the ball.

Hurts and Mahomes, both of whom are Black, each spoke this week about the historic nature of the game and nodded to those who came before them in the long road to integrate the position. You can read more about that history here.

Hurts is in just his second season as a full-time starter. The Houston Texas native lead the team to an impressive 16-1 record this season and was second on the team with 3,701 passing yards and third with 760 rushing yards.

Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain in the divisional round against Jacksonville. He powered through the AFC title game, but hobbled a bit throughout the game.

The Kelce Bowl: Where are the brothers? Where are they coming from? How do they play football? What do they think? Who is the best?

Many famous pairs of brothers have played in the NFL — the Mannings, the Watts, the Barbers, the Cunninghams — but none had yet squared off in the Super Bowl.

The Kelce Bowl has two All- Pro centers, one is from the Philadelphia Eagles and the other is from the Kansas City Chiefs.

The brothers invited their mom and dad onto their show to talk about what they were like as kids. Whose honesty was more honest? What kind of food did they eat? Who is the favorite? It is all wholesome.

After he was fired, Reid was promptly hired by the Chiefs, who have since missed the playoffs only one year in the past decade and are now playing in their third Super Bowl in four years. The Chiefs won it all in 2020. Winning a second ring this year could make him a lock for the Hall of Fame after he retires.

Travis Mahomes: The First Twin to Play in a Super Bowl with the Cleveland Heights, Ohio Charged Browns (Mike and Tom) Brady

At just 27 years old, Mahomes has a decorated resume and laundry list of accolades including two-time league MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and most importantly, Super Bowl Champion. Tom Brady was the only quarterback to start in three Super Bowls in their first six seasons.

He was fired at the end of the 2012 season, when the team finished with a dismal 4-12 record. He’s won double-digit games in every season he’s been with the Chiefs.

The brothers will square off in the Super Bowl for the first time in History in 2023, as they try to become the first siblings to ever play in a Super Bowl.

The two from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, always wanted to share this experience. They played together in college at the University of Cincinnati.

Travis is an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and four-time All-Pro, widely recognized for his flashy dance moves and exuberant personality. A five-time All-Pro, a six-time Pro Bowl selection and a vocal leader, he is also a workhorse on the offensive line.
