Researchers have developed a compound that interferes with the Lol system which is exclusive to gram-negative bacteria. The compound, which is known to be effective against Gram-negative bacteria, will help in the fight against multi-resistant gram-negative bacterial infections. However, it also affects the gut colonisation and resistance against antibiotic treatment, the study said.
