The United Nations has said the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance before the earthquake was 15.3 million, but that number will now have to be revised. Humanitarian aid and international aid didn’t arrive in the region until 72 hours after the earthquake, UN Resident Coordinator for Syria, El Mostafa Benlamlih said.
