Several Republicans have privately told them that they would be interested in running if Kevin McCarthy drops out of the race for US Speaker of the House, CNN reported. McCarthy would reportedly remove two Democrats from the House Intelligence Committee and one from the Foreign Affairs Committee if he is elected as Speaker.
