A US committee has said that the overdose-reversal drug Narcan can be used to detect fentanyl in drug supplies. The panel added that Narcan could also be used to test for other potentially dangerous substances. The panel further said that the spray would be as easily available as ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
