Black Republican US Senator from South Carolina, Mark Scott, said, “I am not just another ambition of one of the parties. I am a different kind of Republican.” Scott is the first Black Republican to be elected to the US Senate. Scott has previously served as Governor of South Carolina and as a state lawmaker.
