NASA has launched the first of at least ten commercial lunar missions under its Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) programme. Astrobotic was paid $108 million for the uncrewed Peregrine Mission One launch, which will carry the five NASA payloads. The mission aims to detect water ice and measure radiation levels on the Moon’s surface.
