The final promethium compound, known as lanthanide, has been investigated by researchers from the University of California at Berkeley. The final lanthanide was studied after establishing promethium coordination and bond lengths. The researchers used ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations to gain insights into the dynamic structural behaviour of PmIII complexation in an aqueous environment.
