People who have had eye drops recalled describe permanent vision problems
A new kind of drug-resistant bacteria known as Drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (DEA) is behind an outbreak of rare eye infections in the US, researchers said. The bacteria has never been associated with eye infection, they added. This type of drug-resistant Pseudomonas has not been associated with eye infections before, the researchers further said.

The CDC says there are more deaths associated with recalled eye drops
US’ CDC said it has identified 69 people in 16 states with infections of a rare strain of drug-resistant pseudomonas aeruginosa. Most of them have reported using artificial tears, the CDC added.
