A large winter storm system blanketed mountain areas in western US before hitting the South, where the weather is expected to bring severe weather, with strong winds, hail and tornadoes. The Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota said that travel through the area will be almost impossible on Tuesday and Wednesday.
