The M4 Pro Mac Pro Upgrade: More CPU Cores and 40 GPU Cores at 1.8 TeV Compared to the M3 Pro

There’s Shark Week, and then there’s Mac Week. The new iMac and Mac Mini were unveiled yesterday, and today we are being treated to a new model. Tomorrow, there’s a good chance you can expect a new MacBook Pro, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

The M4 pro version of the MacBook Pro now starts with more than the M3 pro version, which starts with more than the M4 pro version. According to Apple’s VP of platform architecture, Tim Millet, the higher-end M4 Max chip option has 16 CPU cores and 40 GPU cores. More than half a Terabyte per second of unified memory bandwidth has four times the bandwidth of the latest Artificial Intelligence PC chip. Apple claims the M4 Max is 1.2 times faster than the M3 Max.

The new Apple Watch Series 10: Where are we going? How are the smaller desktop computers and laptops? The case of the M4-powered MacBook Pro

OK, remember when Apple said the Apple Watch Series 10 had an all-new design and it still looked pretty identical to every other Apple Watch? Yes, the small changes made the Series 10 more comfortable and nicer to wear, but new design is a bit of a stretch. That’s kind of like the Mac Mini. It hasn’t received a major redesign since 2010, but things are changing now.

The already small desktop computer is now even smaller—coming in at 5 x 5 inches. Despite the smaller footprint, it’s a little taller, and the base slopes down with vents for airflow. It is still a metallic cube.

Apple has finally added ports to the front, making them easier to access. Two USB-C ports support the USB 3.0, and there’s a 3.5-mm headphone jack. On the back, the M4-powered Mac Mini includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports while the M4 Pro version has three Thunderbolt 5 USB-C ports (another first—Thunderbolt 5 is the latest standard that supports up to 80 Gbps data transfer speeds and it’s only available in very few devices at the moment). Both models have a port for the power cable, and both also have an HDMI port for connecting an external display. Apple has completely nixed the USB-A ports in this model.

The new iMac comes with an upgraded M4 chip, offering up to a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. It comes with a 24-inch display with an optional “nano-texture glass” to help reduce glare, along with a base 16GB of RAM.

The 16-inch M4 MacBook Pro is $2,499, while the 14-inch is $1,599. The laptops are available in space black and silver finishes.

The Macbook Air didn’t receive a full update, but Apple is increasing the base amount of RAM that comes with the M2 and M3 versions of the laptop from 8 grams to 16 grams.

John Ternus: Getting the Most Powerful Apple Devices out of the Underside of a Mac Pro Black Hole by Opening a Notebook

Apple has finally brought USB-C to all of its Mac accessories, including the Magic Keyboard, the Magic Trackpad, and the Magic Mouse. While this is great and all, Apple still hasn’t changed the location of the charging port on the Magic Mouse, leaving it on the underside of the device.

During each of its announcements, Apple highlighted the launch of Apple Intelligence. Apple plans to add other features like an integration with chatGpp in December, despite the fact that they have a redesign of their voice assistant on the mac, phone and iPad. Once your device is updated, you are able to sign up, but there is still a waiting list.

Like the iMac and Mac Mini videos, the new MacBook Pro video is available to watch on Apple’s website by clicking the “watch the announcement” link on the product page or over on the company’s YouTube channel. John Ternus, Apple’s VP of engineering, does the hardware reveal honors in this video. He says that it is packed with pro features, as well as Apple Intelligence and Silicon that is more powerful than ever before. He opens his notebook, and it blows his hair back.
