The Governor of Monroe Canal, Fla., and a Marine One Visitor to Puerto Rico after a Storm-Bathed Puerto Rico
As the governor swept through a relief station set up at Monroe Canal Marina on Tuesday, residents swarmed to take photos and thank him for his work. One man yelled, ‘to hell with Joe Biden.’ Where the hell is he?
Mr. DeSantis said, “You can see damage in a helicopter, but you aren’t on the ground.”
After an hourlong helicopter ride with the first lady in which he surveyed the effects of the storm, Mr. Biden arrived at a news conference and made a point of pointing out that he had toured many disaster areas as president. (He traveled to Florida two days after visiting storm-battered Puerto Rico.) He said he had been to Marine One and witnessed a large amount of damage.
CNN/Smsx Observer: Why Personal Politics Matter for Emergency Response to the Florida Keystone Grassmannian Storm
Times reporters cover politics. We rely on our journalists to be independent observers. Times staff are not allowed toendorse or campaign for candidates or political causes. This includes participating in marches or rallies in support of a movement or giving money to, or raising money for, any political candidate or election cause.
There were people taking pictures as he traveled to meet Mr. DeSantis. Others were holding up their middle fingers.
Mr. Biden made it clear that personal politics would not affect the federal government’s response to the storm. The White House said it would extend the time the federal government would cover emergency response efforts after receiving a request from the Florida government. The funding will last 60 days instead of 30, but Mr. Biden said that Mr. DeSantis would have to request more.

The tragedy of Hurricane Michaeliyah: When President Biden was criticized for his actions in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack
At a campaign rally on Saturday, Biden put on a show of compassion and understanding for those who had been devastated by a devastating disaster, as Trump demonstrated his usual egoism and selfishness.
Cindy Hyde- Smith, who is a Republican and represents the state, shared that the president assured her that he would expedite anything to help those in Mississippi. Hyde-Smith commented, “So we are grateful.”
Reeves, while touring the destruction early Saturday, told reporters that he had already spoken to Biden that morning, adding that a federal emergency declaration to provide assistance to the state was already in the works.
The tornado that hit on Friday night had wind speeds estimated at 170 miles per hour. The mayor of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, which was flattened by the tornado, tragically summed up the extent of the destruction, saying that the “city is gone.”
It’s hard to overlook the fact that Trump, when he was president made much less effort to be even handed about doling out aid to those in need from blue states during times of disaster.
When the Republican field for the presidential race starts to take shape, the rally at the Waco Regional Airport was reminiscent of Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns. In speaking at the event, Lieutenant Gov. Dan Patrick told attendees he was unaware of the violent incident 30 years ago, but that he urged Trump to hold his rally in Waco because it was centrally located, and he could attract Trump supporters around the state.
He put his hand on his heart while the recording of a song was playing over the speakers. The album was sung by a choir of people being held accountable for their roles in the terrorist attack on the US Capitol. Footage from the insurrection was played on a giant screen behind the former president.
Trump mentioned the tornado in Mississippi in the beginning of his speech, and he sent his prayers to those in Mississippi and Alabama.
He then quickly pivoted to a rhetorical attack on the “corrupt, rotten and sinister forces trying to destroy America” and repeated the lie of “rigged” elections. As noted by the New York Times, Trump devoted a lot of his speech to his own legal jeopardy, rather than his vision for a second term.

Why Donald Trump is the First President since George W Bush to Lose re-election, and why Joe Biden is the White House
Obviously, Biden, as president, has an ability to help people that Trump does not. But Trump’s hands are not tied: He did find a way, after all, to visit the site of the Norfolk Southern toxic train derailment last month in East Palestine, Ohio, when it suited his political interests.
In the aftermath of a devastating storm that devastated parts of a region that Trump enjoys broad support in, he was focused on what he’s always done: campaigning for himself.
The former president went through a list of the people he thought were his political opponents, from the fake news media to President Biden. He promised to his supporters, that they would liberate America from people who were looking to destroy the country.
This is another reminder of why Donald Trump was the first president since George W Bush to lose re- election and why Joe Biden is in the White House.
