Amazon Prime Early Access Sale Coverage: Where are the New AirPods? What can you learn from the OnePlus Buds Pro 2?

Are you after more Amazon deals? Visit CNN The Prime Early Access Sale is covered in the Underscored Guide to the Prime Early Access Sale.

We wouldn’t wait too long if you plan on using this deal because the new AirPods Pro are in high demand right now. The basic third-generation AirPods are on sale at just $899.99, down from $169) if the new Pros are not in your budget.

Overall, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 offer a premium experience for less, which fits in with OnePlus’ principal philosophies. They do not have the big drawbacks compared to other earbuds like the Buds 2 and Buds Pro. I like the design of the Buds 2 Pro a bit more, and Google’s earbuds are more helpful, thanks to tighter Google Assistant integration. The average person doesn’t need a lot of bells and whistles in the Buds Pro 2, it just has enough for them.

Apple says the ANC is twice as good as the previous generation, and it’s a bit shocking how well it works. The windiest of boardwalks, the loudest of street corners and the most chaotic of households are no match for the noise suppression of these buds — you can hear next to nothing when it’s on, leaving you and your music or podcasts to yourselves.

Target Cyber Monday Deals: A Year-Runaway Guide for Earbuds and Apple’s Wireless Density Cancellation Tech

It’s no coincidence that Target trips cure my cabin fever and anxiety. It’s fun to travel this time of year because all the cute Christmas ornaments are out. Shopping on its website isn’t as fun, sadly, but it’s still packed full of holiday sales. Target’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals have been live for almost every day of the month, but several discounts are even sweeter now.

We test products year-round and handpicked these deals. Products that are sold out or no longer discounted as of publishing will be crossed out. We’ll update this guide through Cyber Monday.

The price match guarantee is offered by the retailer. You can get a price match if you purchase an item in-store or online from now through December 24. You’ll need to show proof of purchase.

The second-gen wireless buds from Apple have better sound quality than the original Pros, and Apple’s noise-canceling tech is still some of the best in the business. This version’s charging case has an embedded speaker so you can ping it with Apple’s Find My app.

Sony’s flagship headphones remain our best overall choice for most people (9/10, WIRED Recommends). They sound great, look nice and last a long time on a single charge. Sony’s noise cancellation tech is also among the best out there. If you want to save money, the previous generation WH-1000XM4 are just $170 off and are almost as good to listen to.

You can save money and still get great audio by buying the Sony’sWF-1000XM4 earbuds. That said, they may be a bit too big for small ears. There’s noise canceling to quiet down the outside world, quick pairing with Android phones, and a charging case that can be topped up wirelessly.

The noise cancellation earbuds live up to their name and are recommended by our writer. There is a good sound to be had when listening to music or podcasts. They’re more lightweight than previous versions, making them comfortable to wear in your ears for long periods of time.

Do earbuds slip out of your ears? The Powerbeats Pro has a hook that goes behind the ear to keep them in place and is recommended by WIRED. They sound better and have nine hours of battery from a charge. Taking one out of your ear will let you stop your music or route a call back to your phone.

The second-gen Echo Buds are our favorite cheap buds at a normal $120 price, so this is a great discount. The built-in connection with Alexa voice assistant makes it easy to control the buds, ask questions, or set timers without looking at your phone.

The second generation of Sonos Beam is the Goldilocks of Sonos soundbars. It’s not the most powerful speaker from the brand, but it offers the best balance of sound and size for most living rooms. The Beam supports Dolby Atmos and the big three voice assistants (Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri), it’s more responsive than its predecessor, and it’s incredibly sleek, whether on your shelf or mounted to the wall. We’ve got a lot of Sonos deals here.

While Marshall is most notable for its musical instrument amplifiers, the company makes some really great speakers too. The Stockwell II is our favorite of Marshall’s Bluetooth lineup, but the Emberton is a great speaker to pack for your next picnic or beach day. It even has a battery gauge, so you don’t get caught off guard when there’s a moment of silence.

There is really reliable sound in the speakers made by JBL. We expect that the Flip 6 portable speaker wouldn’t be any different. While we haven’t tested this speaker specifically, the previous Flips have fared well, and the Clip 4 is a small and mighty portable player that we love. The Flip 6 has an IPX7 waterproof rating, 12 hours of battery life, and can link up with other JBL speakers through a feature called PartyPlay.

This is our favorite Speaker in the Buying guide because it is convenient and fun. The WIRED recommends the UE Boom 3, it lasts 15 hours on a single charge and it produces a balanced and pleasant sound. It is waterproof and a perfect option for those summer pool parties.

The Sonos Move (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a speaker suitable for indoors and out. With a built-in handle and an IP56 (splash-resistant) rating, you can carry it between your living room and the backyard with ease. It’s powered by Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, packs an 11-hour battery life, and comes equipped with microphones to adapt its sound depending on the environment you’re in. You’ll get support for Google Assistant and Alexa.

This is the best Google speaker for smart-home basics (7/10, WIRED Recommends) like asking questions, setting timers, or controlling your smart lights or thermostat. The fabric around the top is made from yarn spun entirely from recycled plastic bottles. The Best Smart Speakers guide contains more details.

The Nest Audio (8/10, WIRED Recommends) can do everything the Nest Mini can do, including adeptly answer all your spoken questions, thanks to Google Assistant. However, its audio output is significantly better. If you want to rock out with music around the house, you have to get this speaker.

Want a smart display without a camera? There are lots of reasons you can think of. The 7-inch Nest Hub (7/10, WIRED Recommends) will satisfy. When it isn’t in use, it can be used as a digital photo frame, but you can control your smart home gadgets from the phone and see answers on the screen. It can use radar to track your sleep habits, so it’s a nice option for the bedroom. Check out our Best Smart Displays guide for more recommendations.

You may want a smaller smart speaker to tell you the news while you get ready for the day, or listen to your favorite podcast while you put laundry away. The echo dot is a great choice if you are that person. The small Dot can be stashed on a nightstand and still do a lot of the things that smart bulbs and TVs do. The Echo Dot Kids are $30 off today.

The Amazon Echo Show 8 may not be the biggest of the available Show smart displays, but we think it’s the best for most people. The Show 8 is big enough to easily see your slideshow of family photos, but small enough to fit on the counter comfortably. The speaker sounds good, the video chat works well, and the device can control the rest of your connected smart home gadgets. If you want a bigger display you can opt for the larger Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen, 2021). Smart Display is on sale for $185 ($65 off), and the smaller Amazon Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen) is on sale for $35 ($50 off).

Google’s newest flagship phone, the Pixel 7 (8/10, WIRED Recommends), has barely been out for a month, but it’s already on sale. We liked its low price, so it’s an impressive value. You get snappy performance, a 90-Hz screen, wireless charging, a battery that lasts a day, and one of the best cameras on a smartphone. Don’t forget about the many smart features that you’ll use every day, which can be found here. The $749 price for the Pixel 7 pro is $150 off, it has a 120-Hz screen and optical zoom camera. Here you will find more deals from the internet giant.

There is a good chance that the S22 Ultra is a good buy, as it will likely be a successor to this phone early next year. There are almost no other smartphones in the US with a 10x optical zoom camera. That zoom allows you to take pictures of subjects far away. It is a high-end phone, from amazing performance to a 6.8-inch display. There’s even a built-in stylus.

It’s still testing the new Fire HD 8, but it’s much better than the old one. It has a more powerful processor and a thinner design, and still has the same port for charging. It is a great inexpensive screen that can be used for consuming media and browsing the web. If you’re buying this for a kid, get the Fire HD 8 Kids version for $80 ($150 off). It comes with a bumper case and a two-year worry-free guarantee, and you can also buy it on an as-needed basis. Want something even smaller? The Fire HD 7 (2022) is also on sale for $40 ($20 off). The Fire 7 Kids Tablet (2022 Model) is also available for $55 ($55 off), and it has good enough performance for web browsing and watching videos.

If your partner is begging you not to bring any more physical books into the apartment, a Kindle Paperwhite could potentially curb your collecting obsession while keeping you stocked up on reading material. The 2021 11th Generation model (8/10 WIRED Recommends) gives you a bigger screen and battery, as well as a faster processing rate so you won’t have to miss a moment of what’s gonna happen to Evelyn Hugo next.

There’s a new iPad in town, but Apple is continuing to sell last year’s model; for most people, it’s more than enough. It is fast, has a nice screen, and supports the first-gen Apple Pencil. There are several multi-tasking improvements you can enjoy in iPadOS 16 too.

Getting the Most Active, Low-Cost Galaxy And Smartphones Using the Backbone One and Magsafe Duo Wireless Chargers

The Apple official charge will be able to provide you with the best power transfer, since it is very close to a very precise spot. Unfortunately, the 3-foot cable is frustratingly short and makes it tough to use the phone while charging, unless you’re right next to an outlet. The Magsafe Duo is available for a discounted price, if you need to charge multiple devices at once.

Google’s first-ever Pixel Watch makes me jealous that I’m a staunch iPhone user because it’s gorgeous. (It only works with Android phones.) It’s comfortable to wear all day and accurately tracks your health and fitness basics, like heart rate and electrocardiograms, but there’s no SpO2 sensing, auto workout detection, or fall detection (that’s coming soon). Its responsive interface lets you keep track of notifications and respond to messages, even phone calls. The battery life is poor and it charges slowly.

If you have a Samsung phone and are thinking of adding a smartwatch to your gadget stack, the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 (7/10 WIRED Recommends) is the best bet for you. While many smartwatches are square, the Galaxy Watch5 takes on a more round, minimalist design. But this doesn’t mean the tech and hardware are cutting any corners—this has durable sapphire crystal on the face, accurate fitness tracking, and great water and dust resistance.

When you’re working out, you don’t necessarily wanna see every notification or watch the number of miles tick by. The Halo Fitness Tracker is literally just a band that helps monitor your progress without all the chaos that a screen can bring. It is easy to use, but you also get business from it, so keep that in mind. The Halo View Fitness Tracker is also on sale for $35 ($45 off) if you really do want the screen.

There are plenty of games you can play on your iPhone, but it’s not always easy or ergonomic with a tiny touch screen. The Backbone One (8/10 WIRED Recommends) is easy to set up, works with most iPhones, and even has pass-through charging so you don’t have to worry about when to press pause so you can charge up.

Streaming Stick 4K+ and Chromecast Roku Ultra with Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, and Soundbars 2022

Roku’s Streaming Stick 4K Plus, which is slightly discounted at Amazon right now, is our recommended Roku for most people, but this one is similar. The remote is not hands-free, but it is cheaper. The above Chromecast has a nicer interface, but still makes our favorite streaming device. They’re just easier for most people to navigate and offer every service under the sun.

The Roku Ultra has the strongest dual-band Wi-Fi radio of the lineup, plus it comes with headphones for private listening if the rest of your house is asleep (you just plug them into the side of the remote). It streams in Dolby Vision, and this 2022 version adds support for HDR10+ (if your TV supports it). The remote has voice control.

For $80, you can upgrade your streaming capabilities and the audio quality of your TV with Roku’s Streambar. It’s 14 inches long, so it works well in small living rooms. It has Dolby Audio for better sound, and there’s a night-listening mode so you don’t have to worry about constantly turning down the loud scenes while your roommate is sleeping. You can find discounted soundbars in the section above if you want better sound quality than this and don’t need a streaming device.

TCL makes some of our favorite TVs and we love how much you get for your money when you buy a TV from this company. The Television is about the same cheap as a quality television. The image tech that’s made previous 5- and 6-Series TCL TVs so good has filtered down to the 4-Series.

The 15-inch HP Victus: A Mini-Bound Gaming Ultracompact Experiment on Lenovo’s 13-inch Flex 5i

This is the 15-inch version of the HP Victus we like in our Best Budget Gaming Laptops guide. It has the same Intel i5 processor, 16 gigabytes of RAM, and 512-gigabyte storage as before, and a slightly smaller screen. It’s not the most powerful gaming rig, but if you have a tight budget, it will do the job.

Lenovo’s 13-inch, two-in-one touchscreen Flex 5i features a 12th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8 gigabytes of RAM, and a 256-gigabyte SSD. It’s very fast to browse the web, watch videos, and do office tasks. The display isn’t as bright as it could be.

I prefer using random mugs with a warmer than the ones I have. If you need to keep your coffee warm and you work in an office, Ember’s mugs are a good choice. You have to connect it to the Ember app when you first unbox it, but then you can set your perfect temperature from 120 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit. The battery lasts about an hour and a half between charges.

WIRED recommends the Dyson V10 Cyclone and V8 Origin for $350 le 200$, and the V12 Slim to $350 for $250$

Our absolute favorite robot vacuum is this one. It’s easy to use, attractive, and effective. It doesn’t have to be emptied as often because it empties automatically, and you don’t have to empty it as often.

This stick vacuum is still a good deal, even though it has gone as low as $350 before. The V10 Cyclone is the vac that WIRED recommends for many of its team members. The body is light, the suction is strong, and the whole thing is easy to maneuver. You can attach different heads, including one made for pet hair, and convert it into a hand vac. Our guide contains everything you need to know about the best Dyson vacuums. The brand new Dyson V12 Detect Slim is on sale for $350 but you can also save and get the older V8 Origin for $250.

The Best Target Black Friday Deals 2022: Eero 6 (3-Pack) Wireless Mesh Routers with a Battery Operated Nest Cam

If you want to keep up with the latest information on the security cameras in your area, look into the battery-operated Nest cam. The battery will run for a bit more than a month, because it has a magnetic mounting plate. The 1080p quality is pretty great, even when night vision kicks on in low light. You don’t need a subscription to get a few helpful features. There’s a version with a floodlight for $190 ($90 off), and the corded version of this Nest Cam (for indoors) is also on sale for $70 ($30 off).

At this point, Wi-Fi shouldn’t be confusing, yet somehow it still is with all the rebooting and speed tests and precarious setup situations. The Eero 6 (3-Pack) Wi-Fi Mesh Routers are so simple to set up, so you won’t have to worry about all that nonsense. These discrete routers easily blend into your decor, all the while extending and boosting your internet well enough to make it easier on you.

It’s actually kind of insane how expensive Christmas trees can be, artificial or not. If you wanna spend less on a tree so you can spend more on your loved ones, Target has the Wondershop brand artificial trees on sale for 50 percent off.

This is the lowest price we’ve seen on this model. These stand mixers can stand (pun intended) the test of time and will prove a useful addition to any home baker’s arsenal. The Artisan model that tilts its head back for easier bowl access is on sale for $350, which is $100 off. Shipping is not longer available from Target, but you may be able to order one for pick up in a store near you if there’s still stock.

This deal is on the original model of the Nintendo console, the Nintendo Switch. You can crush your friends and strangers online with a three-month membership to Nintendo Switch Online. You’re effectively getting the game and membership for the price of the console.

The Xbox comes with only one controller in the box, so get a spare for Player 2 ahead of the holidays. You can get discounts on Carbon Black, Robot White, Shock Blue, and Electric Volt.

If you can spend a little more, this Blue Yeti is still affordable and will elevate your sound while streaming your Elden Ring sessions. Plug it into your PC and you’re done. We have other tips and recommendations in our Best Podcasting Gear guide.

Lowest Price Black Friday Deals at Target: Target Snags a Game, and Remington’s Brushes for All Day Typing

The Xbox Series X fluctuates in stock, so snag the Series S instead. It is a cheaper alternative. The Series S can play titles up to 120 frames per second at a resolution that is not 4K and has no disc drive. This is the lowest price we’ve tracked, and Target is throwing a $50 gift card, which you can use to snag an Xbox game. It might not be available for shipping If you happen to be in a Target near you, you can pick it up. You can buy it directly from Microsoft, without the gift card.

Deals like this are basically free money. If you’re going to buy anything at the store, this $25 gift card is a great value. It’s 20 percent off if you buy in the future. And you can buy up to three cards, for a total of $15 off a $75 purchase.

Mechanical keyboards make typing all day fun, with satisfying clicky clacks. This one is a 60 percent keyboard, so it loses the number pad and the arrow keys, leaving a cute little board with just the basics. It’s compatible with key cap kits, and you can change your color scheme.

Oral-B makes great electric toothbrushes, with round, oscillating brush heads that get right in between all your teeth and gums and leave them sparkling clean. The classic Pro 1000 is the best for most people and the brand has released some very expensive smart brushes.

I’ve tried a lot of very expensive hair tools, and I love the cheap ones more than the expensive ones. Remington’s flat iron is one of those standouts. I didn’t have to go over a section of my hair a second time. I don’t know if it added shine, but my coarse hair has never been shiny a day in its life. It didn’t make it look crispy, so that’s a win in my book.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2: An Ultra-High-End Phone with a Dual-Driver Dual-Sensor For True Wireless Earbuds

When you exercise, tears are a part of the process. You’ll be sore if it’s a good workout. You can massage away a great deal of that soreness though, with a percussive massager. The Theragun Prime provides up to 30 pounds of pressure, making it a solid midrange product in Theragun’s lineup. The Best Theraguns guide can provide more information.

I come home with so many beauty products whenever I go to Target. There are several beauty sets included in the 25 percent off deal. Here are a few things to do.

Alongside its new phone, OnePlus is also announcing a follow-up to 2021’s OnePlus Buds Pro true wireless earbuds called the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. There are a couple of things different between the two generations. The Buds Pro 2 uses a dual-driver design, with 11mm and 6mm drivers, for bass and trebles, and the original Buds Pro had the 11mm driver. If done correctly, dual-driver setups can help make sound appear more clear and detailed.

For the most part, there is what we have come to expect from a flagship phone in recent years. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, comes with up to 16GB of RAM, and has a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display. You get three rear cameras, which are once again the brand of Hasselblad.

The OnePlus 11 has a 5,000mAh battery that charges at up to 100W for the Chinese version of the device. That’s up from a maximum of 80W with the OnePlus 10 Pro but a little less than the 150W charging offered by the OnePlus 10T. Based on previous OnePlus releases, US customers are unlikely to get this full 100W charging speed thanks to North America’s 110V sockets, but that shouldn’t make too much of a difference to the number of minutes it takes to charge.

The OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 10 Pro Launches in China on February 9th, 2015, and beyond: a user’s guide

Around back, the phone has three cameras, a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide, and a 32-megapixel sensor for portrait shots. There’s no mention of a telephoto lens, but you do get a “13-channel multi-spectral light-colour identifying sensor,” which OnePlus ambiguously explains allows the phone to deal with “all photography scenarios.” A spokesperson for OnePlus declined to provide any further information on what this extra sensor does. There are three rear cameras inside the black hole camera bump.

I am aware I should care about spatial audio but it feels like a distraction from the real business of my phone.

Customers in the rest of the world won’t be able to buy the phone and headphones in China on January 9th. The launch of the OnePlus 11 is anticipated to take place on February 7th. A similar launch strategy has been used by the company for previous flagships, most notably the last year’s OnePlus 10 Pro. In China, the lowest storage model will cost 3999 and the highest one will cost 4499, rising to 6199 and 7199 respectively.

They stay in my ears while not making me uncomfortable. There are even extra ear tips in the box to help you find the right fit. The earbuds come in two colors and have a matt finish that greatly reduces fingerprints. I have a Eternal Green color which looks very nice beside my OnePlus 11, and a Titan Black version if you just want something simple.

The water resistance rating on the Buds Pro 2 makes it safe to work out at the gym. The case even has an IP rating at IPX4, giving it extra protection if you find yourself in a rain shower and need to use your earbuds.

LHDC earbuds: letting you hear what you are listening about, how you play with it and how you’re listening to it

The stems of either bud have touch controls on them, which can be used to adjust the volume and to control the way your content is played. This can all be done through a series of taps, swipes and presses. In my experience, it all worked as you’d expect.

I also dove into country, streaming a lot of Morgan Wallen and Tyler Hubbard. The twang of the acoustic guitars, kick drum in the background and wide-ranging protection style of both artists were well represented by these earbuds. Other genres like pop (Charlie Puth’s “Charlie”), jazz (Michael Bublé’s “Higher”) and rock (as long as you consider Nickelback and Green Day rock) also sounded good on these buds, but it was clear that these buds were designed to focus strongly on bass-heavy tracks, something Beats by Dre has focused on for years. It’s not a bad thing, though I like the sound of it on the Buds Pro 2.

In order to stream lossless audio, you need to have an Android phone that supports the LHDC codec. A lot of modern phones do, but your iPhone does not. I tried streaming lossless audio with my OnePlus 11 and Apple Music, and it all sounded a bit crisper than it did via Spotify. The feature can be hard to use for anyone who didn’t use many earbuds in the past, as the difference is indiscernible. It works well and is still there.

The Sound of the Oneplus-Buds-2 Pro: An Expensive Pair of High-Precision, Low-Power, Wirelessly Charging Audio Earbuds

I found that it works excellently when I tested it a lot. Wind is unfortunately one of the only disturbances the Buds Pro 2 can’t cancel completely, but everything else remained quiet while I typed away at Starbucks and walked down the streets of Ocean City.

The earbuds’ transparency mode also worked well. Once enabled, I could hear my surroundings quite well, although vocals sounded a bit wetter than they do with transparency modes on other earbuds like the AirPods Pro and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. It is very solid.

The microphone quality is pretty decent. Everyone that I called said that my voice was clear and I sounded perfect with the Buds Pro 2 mics. You won’t want to use these earbuds to record audio, but for voice and video calls, they work really well.

On the back of the phone, there is a port for wireless charging on the bottom. If you want to juice up quickly, you’ll want to plug them in — after 10 minutes, you’ll get 10 hours of listening time.

I know that these earbuds are less expensive compared to the competitors, but I still feel like OnePlus could have included a nicer carrying case. The one it designed feels cheap and flimsy, ready to crack with any accidental drop onto concrete. The hinge on the lid feels delicate as if I couldn’t snap it off with the minimum of effort. I’ve used plenty of earbuds in my day, and this pair has one of the cheapest-feeling cases you’ll find. It looks okay.

How does Dolby Atmos enhance the sound of a music-like effect using spatial audio Mixing? A case study of the analog-AAC system with dolby atmos

It sounded like a cheap effect that adds echoes and artificial depth to whatever I listened to, no matter what spatial audio was turned on. The sound of music is the worst, while TV shows and movies sound a little better with the use of Dolby Atmos/ spatial audio mixes. I also tried the head tracking feature, which worked well, but it didn’t do anything to improve the sound quality.
