‘Sunday Ticket’ will be on the internet beginning next season.

The NFL Sunday Ticket Agreement: A One-Year Agreement Between DirecTV, NFL Plus, Primetime, and YouTube. The New England Patriots

The Wall Street Journal reports that, according to sources, YouTube is paying $2 billion per season in a seven-year agreement for the residential streaming rights to NFL Sunday Ticket.

It will be available either as an add-on for YouTube TV subscribers or as a la carte option on YouTube Primetime Channels, which launched last month.

The Sunday Ticket package is $299 if you buy it from a company like DirecTV, or almost $400 if you purchase the Max package with extra content.

The owner of the New England Patriots, who is also chairman of the NFL’s media committee, said partnerships with innovation will ensure that more games are available to more fans. Future generations will be able to follow their favorite sport as a result of this partnership.

The NFL itself has dipped its toes further into streaming with its own NFL Plus service, which launched this year. But you can only use the service on a mobile phone or tablet and it has a limited selection of games, meaning it might not be enough for some NFL superfans.

The NFL was seeking $2.5 billion per season for the package, which has been on DirecTV since 1994. The company has paid billions of dollars on the contract that expires at the end of the season.

Google said in June that YouTube TV, which was launched in 2017, had surpassed 5 million accounts and was the biggest internet-based pay TV service in the U.S. Users on free trials are included.
