Surface Studio 2: A Microsoft Experience at the Preliminary Event in New York City (New York City, October 3rd, 2015)
The Surface laptop studio 2 has the same kind of screen as the prior model, which means you can use it to pull forwards or lie flat. However, it sports a few changes under the hood. Microsoft says it’s twice as fast as its predecessor, with new Intel 13th The i7 processors and the 4050 and 4060 graphics cards are from Advanced Micro Devices. It’s also the first Windows computer to come with the Intel neural processing unit, which should allow for faster, more powerful AI capabilities.
The upgrades largely match WinFuture’s leaks from last week, which included photos showing the new microSD card slot and some new ports on the left side of the device.
Microsoft had an event in New York City. The company used the occasion to show off two new laptops from its house-made Surface line as well as a slew of AI-powered enhancements coming to Windows 11 later this month. We went to the presentation, but not to watch it live, but to hear the announcements, watch demos, and get hands-on with the new devices. Highlights are below.
The Surface Go 4 will be released on October 3rd, with a prices starting at $579), according to Microsoft. It also said in a press release that the device will be “available exclusively for organizations,” though, so you won’t be able to get your hands on one unless you meet those requirements.
Windows 11: The Next Big Update: Personalized Answers, Bing Chatbot, and Personalized Amazonian Shopping Recommendation
September 26th is the date when Windows 11 will get its next big update. The update will feature the new Windows Copilot, a new File explorer and native support for RAR and 7-ZIP.
Additionally, Microsoft is adding a new Windows volume mixer that lets you control app volumes individually. Dynamic Lighting setting can be used to adjust the lighting on your PC components.
Microsoft is merging Copilot, the company’s AI-powered assistant, to allow for a unified experience. Microsoft says the tool will be widely available across its services and apps. With this update, Copilot will “uniquely incorporate” context from the web, your work data, and what you’re currently doing on your computer to provide you with “better assistance.”
Bing Chat, Microsoft’s AI chatbot, is getting a big update. Microsoft announced that it’s adding DALL-E 3, the latest version of OpenAI’s text-to-image generator, to Bing Chat for free. The AI chatbot is also getting Personalized Answers, a feature that will use your chat history to inform Bing’s responses.
Bing can be used to shop for stuff. Microsoft says the Shopping tab will also get the Copilot treatment, and you can talk to the assistant to get help finding what you want to buy. Copilot will guide you through a series of questions so it can better understand what you are looking for and show relevant shopping recommendations, including reviews on products and pros and cons. It will be available this fall.
