The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6: An Upgraded Family of Galaxy Models with Security, OS, and OS Support for a Smartphone Launch in 2024
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 also comes in $100 higher than older models, now starting at $1,099.99 for a 256GB model. It will be available through major carriers, as well as via Amazon and Best Buy, with exclusive peach, black, and white colors, as standard colors that will also be available everywhere.
The S 24 series and the other phones both use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and both include seven years of OS and security update support. Both of them claim better resistance to drops because of improved hinge design and materials. The phones are now more resistant to wear and tear. It looks better on paper than the old IPX8 rating, but the “4” means the devices are protected from foreign objects of 1mm and greater, not against dust.
The Z flip 6 has an upgraded 50 million wide-angle main sensor, a 2X optical zoom and up to 10X digital zoom. The 12-megapixel sensor remains the same.
Naturally, it wouldn’t be a phone launch in 2024 without AI. The Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have the same full suite of features as the S 24 series, but with a big inner screen that makes it easy to use. The interpreter mode gets an update to take advantage of the foldable form factor to show translations, as well as a new feature that turns S Pen doodles into images.
